Atelier is an upscale boutique hotel located in the residential district of Asokoro, Abuja. Our hotel seeks to meet the needs of the modern traveller while providing a uniquely luxurious and curated sensory experience to surprise and delight you. We strive to present guests with the very best in contemporary art, design and cuisine while fostering a lively community of patrons and visitors.
Designed by architects Studio Contra Mundum , Atelier is the thoughtful reinterpretation and renovation of an existing colonial-style building which combines local sensibilities with a global outlook and mixes the old world with the new along the lines of an ‘Afro-minimalist’ aesthetic. The hotel is intended to feel like a creative and comfortable retreat, or pied a terre, while offering access to art and culture.
A Family Hotel
Atelier is a family-owned and managed boutique hotel founded in 2019 by three sisters: Keji Kola-Balogun, Olayinka Dosekun and Dolly Kola-Balogun.
Our vision is to create a new kind of hotel for the cosmopolitan patron: proudly African and offering an authentic hospitality experience centered around design, art and culture.
Drawing rich inspiration from extensive travel around the world, our own diverse educational background and eclectic cultural interests, we have spent five years conceiving and realizing the hotel.
Atelier CEO, Keji (BA Law | Cambridge, MIB | Hult Business School) is the entrepreneurial force behind the brand.
Olayinka (BA Classics | Oxford, M.Arch | Harvard) the Creative Director of architectural firm Studio Contra Mundum, is the hotel’s conceptual, interior and furniture designer.
Dolly (BA Religion & Politics | King’s
College London), Co-Owner of Retro Africa, a respected gallery and champion of African contemporary art,
curates the gallery spaces.
